About the event

Start the new year with a powerful and symbolic tradition! Kagami Biraki, meaning “Mirror Opening,” is an annual practice that symbolizes breaking through barriers and embracing new beginnings.

Rooted in centuries-old tradition, Kagami Biraki brings the dojo community together to reflect on the past year and set our intentions for the year ahead. The practice will focus on fundamental techniques (Kihon), highlighting strong execution, spirit, and proper posture while fostering a unified effort from all participants. It may also include kata (forms) to further emphasize these principles. This intense and spirited practice is an opportunity to sharpen your skills and deepen your connection to the art of Aikido.

Let’s come together, break through barriers, and embrace the opportunities of the year ahead. All are encouraged to join!
